Mumbai, Aug 29 : French quantum computing company Pasqal made a strong debut on the Nasdaq on Friday, with its shares rising as much as 73% before paring some of those gains.
The market performance highlights growing investor interest in quantum computing, a technology widely viewed as a potential successor to conventional computing for certain highly complex problems.
Pasqal specialises in neutral-atom quantum computing, an approach that uses individual atoms as the basic building blocks of quantum systems. The company is developing machines intended to tackle workloads that could eventually have applications in areas such as scientific research, optimisation and advanced materials.
The Nasdaq listing gives the French technology company greater exposure to US investors at a time when interest in quantum computing is expanding.
