Jammu, Jan 27: Traffic on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) was suspended on Monday after fresh snowfall affected areas around the Navyug Tunnel, officials said.
Authorities confirmed that vehicular movement has been halted in both directions to ensure safety. Apart from NH-44, the Mughal Road, Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri (SSG) Road and Sinthan Road remain inaccessible due to challenging weather conditions and unsafe road surfaces.
Travelers have been strongly advised to postpone journeys on these routes until normal traffic is restored and clearance is officially announced. Officials also urged commuters not to rely on unverified information circulating on social media.
For accurate and timely updates, the public has been asked to follow official Traffic Police channels on social media or contact Traffic Control Units located in Jammu, Srinagar and Ramban.
