10-08-2022 : A series of events on the theme “Creating World of all Ages” was organised by Red Ribbon Club (RRC), Govt. Degree College Ramnagar in collaboration with J&K AIDS Control Society.This initiative was taken in connection with International Youth Day, 2022. The first event was poster making competition on 01.08.22. The NSS volunteers and other students of the college actively participated in the event. The response of the students was overwhelming who made posters on menace of AIDS, how it can be prevented and positivity managed.
The judges of the event were Prof. Harmeet Kour (HOD Botany) and Prof. Brinder Kumar (HOD Zoology). The first position in the competition was secured by Semrin Kumari (SEM-II), second position bagged by Vidhushi Dhiman (SEM-VI) and third position was secured by Arun Sharma (SEM-IV). The winners of the events were awarded with the merit certificates and cash prizes. Further, Sunidhi Mahajan (SEM-II), Varun Thakur (SEM-II) and Monalika (Sem-II) were awarded consolation prizes.
The second event was symposium competition with similar theme conducted on 10.08.22. Students enthusiastically participated and presented their views pertaining to prevention, management and fighting AIDS. The judges of the event were Prof. Shobha Rani (HODDogri) and Dr. Deepak Chauhan (Faculty Botany). The first position in the competition was secured by Suhani Gupta (SEM-IV), Sunidhi Mahajan (SEM-II) bagged second position and third position was secured by Monalika (SEM-II). Kritika Sharma (SEM-II) and Anshu Sharma (SEM-IV) were awarded the consolation prizes. The winners of the both the events were awarded with the merit certificates and cash prizes.
The entire session was organised under the guidance of Dr. UdheyBhanu, Principal GDC Ramnagar, Prof. Suresh Kumar Dogra (Senior Faculty/HOD Physics), Prof.Brinder Kumar (Convenor IQAC) who applauded the organisers of the event for taking such initiative.
The organising members of the session were Prof. Ritika Mahajan (Convenor RRC), Prof. Divya Puri (HOD Psychology), Prof. Anice Ahmed (HOD English), Dr. Sonam Gandotra (Faculty Computer Application).
