Ghulam Nabi Azad Declares DPAP’s Entry into Lok Sabha Elections, Aims to Amplify J&K’s Voice in Parliament

02-01-2024 : Chairman of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party and former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has declared that his party, the DPAP, will actively participate in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections with the aim of representing the voice of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the Parliament. Azad, addressing a significant public gathering in Rajgarh, Ramban district, accused the region of being under an “Officers Raj” where the common people’s grievances were not heard.

Expressing his concerns about the absence of a popular government, elected representatives, and ministers in Jammu and Kashmir, Azad emphasized the need for a government that listens to and addresses the issues faced by the residents. He alleged that non-local officers were indifferent to the concerns of the locals and advocated for the election of competent candidates who would work towards the socio-economic empowerment of the people.

Azad highlighted the significance of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled after March 2024, and sought public support for DPAP candidates in both the Lok Sabha and Assembly polls. He expressed his commitment to raising the voice for the restoration of Statehood, land rights, and job security for the locals.

Addressing the public, Azad urged voters to make informed decisions based on the candidates’ competence and governance capabilities, emphasizing that religious considerations should not hinder the voting process. He assured that, if elected, his party would prioritize the needs of people in hilly areas, ensuring a comfortable life for all residents.
