Bihar, Nov 4 : As the political heat rises in Bihar ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, a sharp exchange unfolded between BJP leader Giriraj Singh and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge over the latter’s remark on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s campaign.
Kharge, while addressing a rally on Monday, took a swipe at the Prime Minister, saying, “Narendra Modi is roaming around in Bihar as if it’s his son’s wedding. From panchayat elections to parliamentary elections, it’s Modi who roams around; every time, only his face is visible. How many times will people vote just by seeing Modi’s face?”
Responding to the comment, Giriraj Singh fired back on social media platform X, saying, “Kharge ji, if the Congress Yuvaraj’s marriage ever happens, we will definitely come to it.” His sarcastic remark, aimed at the Gandhi family, quickly went viral, drawing reactions from both supporters and critics online.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi, during a rally in Bihar, launched a strong attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress, accusing them of promoting corruption and lawlessness. He said, “The dictionary of RJD and Congress is filled with words like katta (pistol), cruelty, and corruption. This is what they learned from the school of Jungle Raj.”
Kharge, in a counterattack, accused the BJP of failing to end the so called ‘jungle raj’ despite two decades of rule and claimed the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) would form the next government in the state. He added that Modi would “never make Nitish Kumar Chief Minister again” and would instead “hand over power to one of his disciples.”
With the first phase of polling scheduled for November 6 and the second on November 11, campaigning in Bihar has reached its peak. The results will be declared on November 14, setting the stage for a high-stakes political showdown between the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan.
