Government Polytechnic Jammu Marks World AIDS Day with Poster and Rangoli Competitions

JAMMU,30-11-2024: To observe World AIDS Day 2024, the Red Ribbon Club of Government Polytechnic Jammu, in collaboration with the J&K State AIDS Control Society, organized a poster-making and rangoli competition at the institution. Over 100 students participated, showcasing their creativity and enthusiasm while spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS.

The event revolved around the theme “Take the Right Path,” aiming to highlight HIV as a persistent global health issue, exacerbated by factors such as division, inequality, and disregard for human rights. Through their art, participants conveyed the importance of awareness, education, and collective efforts in combating the disease.

Principal Er. Arun Bangotra engaged with the students, emphasizing proactive measures to combat HIV/AIDS and urging them to play a role in raising awareness. Certificates were awarded to winners and participants in recognition of their efforts and contributions toward this vital cause.

The event witnessed the presence of key faculty members, including Er. Inderjeet Singh (Workshop Superintendent), Er. Sukhdeep Singh (HOD Civil Engineering), Er. Manjeet Singh (HOD Electrical Engineering), and Er. Raj Kumar (HOD Mechanical Engineering).

The program was successfully coordinated by Er. Sanam Gupta, In-Charge of the Red Ribbon Club, along with members Er. Sakshi Kapahi, Er. Sajjad Hussain, Ar. Manu Rajput, Er. Arshad Ranja, Er. Itika Sharma, Chamel Singh, and Toshi Devi.

The initiative underscored the institution’s commitment to raising awareness about HIV/AIDS and fostering a sense of responsibility among students to contribute to societal well-being.
