Basantgarh, 07-07-2022: Red Ribbon Club (RRC) of Govt. Degree College Dudu Basantgarh under the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav conducted a One Day HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaign. The students of the college, in five groups, visited the area of Shiv Gali (Dudu Basantgarh) and spread awareness among the residents of the said area about various causes and preventive measures to control HIV/AIDS.
While interacting with the local people of the area, students told the people that they should take care of themselves while visiting hospitals for their treatment, barber shops, and have –physical or sexual relationships with their partners. They should check the blood, needle, or other medical tools which can infect them directly through blood transfer. The students also advised the locals to take preventive measures against this deadly disease. Furthermore, the students requested the public to be friendly with the person having HIV/AIDS because it cannot spread through handshakes or having a meal together.
The campaign was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Rahul Sharma, Prof. Pradeep Kumar Kundal, Prof. Vijay Kumar, Dr PP Singh, and Mr. Tariq Ahmad Mir.
