“Govt to Prioritise AI Adoption in Health Sector, Says Pathak”

Deputy CM Highlights AI’s Potential to Transform Medical Services and Announces Plan to Develop Lucknow as ‘AI City’

Lucknow, Jan 14: Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak on Tuesday emphasised the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in transforming healthcare delivery, saying the technology can make medical services more accurate, faster, and effective.

Speaking at the valedictory session of the AI Impact Summit 2026, Pathak noted that rapid innovations in the medical field worldwide have positioned AI as a key driver of change in healthcare systems.

“Such summits and workshops help policymakers and professionals understand global best practices and adapt them for implementation in the state. The state government will take all necessary steps to promote the use of AI in the health sector on priority,” he said.

Pathak also outlined the government’s vision to develop Lucknow as an ‘AI City’, a move expected to bring historic and transformative changes to Uttar Pradesh’s healthcare ecosystem.

As part of the initiative, he launched an AI-based mobile application aimed at improving digital healthcare delivery and ensuring better access to medical services for citizens.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that embracing AI-driven innovations would strengthen UP’s healthcare infrastructure and improve outcomes for patients across the state.
