GTA 6 Launch Delayed Again: Rockstar Games Confirms New Release Date

Rockstar Games postpones highly anticipated GTA 6 to ensure a polished gaming experience, keeping fans on edge.

Mumbai, Nov 27 : Rockstar Games has announced yet another delay for Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6), pushing its release to November 19, 2026, leaving fans both anxious and hopeful. The studio cited the need for additional time to perfect the game and deliver the blockbuster experience expected from the franchise.

In a statement on social media, Rockstar said the team requires extra months to finalize development, fix potential bugs, and ensure the game meets its high-quality standards.

This marks the second official postponement:

Original release window: Fall 2025

First revised date: May 2026

Current release date: November 19, 2026

GTA 6 has been in development for over a decade, following the massive success of Grand Theft Auto V (2013), which sold more than 220 million copies worldwide. The first trailer for GTA 6, released in December 2023, shattered online viewing records, highlighting the franchise’s enduring hype.

The game will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with the PC version expected later, as per Rockstar’s usual practice.

Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive, maintains confidence in the title’s financial potential despite the delay. The studio has a history of postponing major releases to ensure quality, including Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA IV, which ultimately became critically acclaimed hits.

Social media reactions are mixed, with some fans frustrated by the long wait, while others welcome the delay if it guarantees a polished, glitch-free experience. Rockstar emphasized that the Grand Theft Auto series and its other successful franchises like Red Dead, Max Payne, and Midnight Club demand immense development effort, reinforcing the studio’s focus on quality over speed.
