Gujarat Opens Admissions for Over 78,000 Engineering Seats

Registration for 2026 engineering admissions begins as seat capacity expands across government and private colleges.

Gujarat, Apr 01 : The Gujarat government has officially opened registrations for more than 78,000 engineering seats for the 2026 academic session, marking a significant expansion in technical education opportunities. The admission process, managed by the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC), will remain open until May 31.

The total intake includes seats across government institutions, grant-in-aid colleges, and a large number of self-financed institutes. Authorities are also considering adding around 2,500 more seats in government colleges, further boosting accessibility.

Eligibility criteria require students to have appeared in entrance exams such as GujCET or JEE 2026, with minimum qualifying marks set as per national norms. Notably, self-financed colleges will independently fill 50% of their seats, including a reserved quota for NRI candidates.

This move reflects a broader push to strengthen India’s engineering education ecosystem and meet rising demand from students seeking technical careers.
