JAMMU, Nov 5: A fierce gunfight broke out between terrorists and security forces on Wednesday in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district, officials said.
According to defence sources, the encounter began after security forces, acting on specific intelligence inputs, launched a joint operation with the Jammu and Kashmir Police in the Chhatru area early this morning.
“Alert troops of the White Knight Corps established contact with terrorists in the general area of Chhatru,” the Corps confirmed in a post on X.
The operation remains ongoing, with additional reinforcements rushed to the site to prevent any escape routes for the terrorists. Further details are awaited.
