Guru Nanak Jayanti 2020: The birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, is celebrated with great enthusiasm all over the country. Every year on the day of Kartik Purnima, the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji is celebrated all over the country. The entire Sikh society gathers and celebrates Guru Parv. Prabhat ferries are taken out and programs are organized from place to place. The celebrations begin several days in advance, kirtans are done everywhere and langars are distributed.
Guru Nanak Dev ji was born in 1469 in Sri Nankana Sahib, now in Pakistan. Guru Nanak’s father’s name was Mehta Kalu and mother’s name was Trupta Devi. He also had a sister named Nanaki. Apart from this, Guru Nanak had two sons, one was named Srichand and the other son was named Lakhmidas. His wife’s name was Sullakhani. Guru Nanak was sincere in his childhood and opposed the orthodox ideology. He founded Sikhism.
Guru Nanak spent his whole life in the service of humanity. He also went to other countries like Iran, Afghanistan, and Arab countries and taught people to stay away from hypocrisy.
