Punjab, Dec 02 ; National Bank (PNB) on Tuesday announced Indian Women’s Cricket Captain and World Cup champion Harmanpreet Kaur as its first-ever female brand ambassador, marking a milestone in the bank’s strategic brand transformation.
The announcement was made at a ceremony themed ‘Banking On Champions’ at PNB’s Corporate Office, attended by Chief Guest Shri M. Nagaraju, Secretary (FS), Harmanpreet Kaur, PNB MD & CEO Shri Ashok Chandra, Executive Directors, senior leadership, and bank employees.
During the event, Harmanpreet Kaur was presented with a specially framed PNB jersey and a custom engraved bat. She joined senior leadership in unveiling four new financial products the PNB RuPay Metal Credit Card Luxura, PNB One 2.0 app, Digi Surya Ghar solar financing initiative, and the bank’s onboarding onto the IIBX Portal for bullion trading.
Leaders hail Harmanpreet’s impact
Shri M. Nagaraju said Harmanpreet had “made India proud” and praised PNB for its innovation, including the new metal credit card and strong MSME outreach. He noted that PNB’s entry onto the IIBX platform would strengthen its bullion operations.
Harmanpreet Kaur expressed pride and nostalgia, sharing that her first PNB account was opened at the Moga branch when she was 18.
“To stand here today as the Bank’s brand ambassador is an honour,” she said, adding that PNB’s efforts to empower women and youth resonate with her. She also became the first customer of the PNB Luxura credit card.
PNB MD & CEO Ashok Chandra said the bank was “delighted” to welcome Harmanpreet to the PNB family.
“Her leadership, resilience, and pursuit of excellence mirror our ethos,” he said while unveiling Luxura, the bank’s first metal credit card for elite customers.

The event also featured a rapid-fire interaction, tree plantation and cultural performances. Ten young female cricketers received PNB-branded cricket kits autographed by Harmanpreet, encouraging grassroots talent. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by PNB ED Shri Bibhu P. Mahapatra.
