Mumbai, Nov 5 : The magical world of Harry Potter is back, enchanting fans in two major ways: an upcoming HBO live-action series and a full cast audiobook adaptation from Audible.
While the HBO series is still over a year away, Audible has already released the first installment of the audiobooks, with the remaining six volumes scheduled to release monthly, culminating with the final book on May 12, according to Variety.
Audible’s production focuses on voice and performance rather than physical resemblance to characters, creating “a groundbreaking new soundscape … performances that will inspire our listeners’ imaginations and redefine these quintessential characters for a new generation,” according to Pottermore Publishing and Audible.
The Hogwarts trio is portrayed in two eras: Frankie Treadaway, Max Lester, and Arabella Stanton voice Harry, Ron, and Hermione in books 1-3, while Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan, and Nina Barker Francis take over for books 4-7. Notably, Arabella Stanton also plays Hermione in the upcoming HBO series, offering fans an early glimpse of the live-action interpretation.
The star-studded cast includes Hugh Laurie as Dumbledore, Matthew Macfadyen as Voldemort, Riz Ahmed as Snape, Kit Harington as Gilderoy Lockhart, Keira Knightley as Dolores Umbridge, and James McAvoy as Mad-Eye Moody.
Audible CEO Bob Carrigan commented, “With millions of Audible listeners devouring Harry Potter at an astonishing rate, we are thrilled to delight new and old fans alike with a reinvigorated listening experience that only Audible can deliver.”
