Haryana Received Rs 2 Lakh Crore in Central Assistance Under Modi’s Leadership: CM Saini

On Haryana's 61st Foundation Day, the Chief Minister thanks the Prime Minister for supporting the state's infrastructure, agriculture, employment and welfare initiatives.

PANCHKULA, Nov 1: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Centre’s financial assistance and development initiatives, stating that nearly Rs 2 lakh crore in central support over the past 12 years had accelerated the state’s growth.

In a four page letter addressed to Modi on the occasion of Haryana’s 61st Foundation Day, Saini acknowledged the Prime Minister’s contribution to the state’s progress and recalled his longstanding association with Haryana.

The Chief Minister said the state’s 2.80 crore residents had benefited from central initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, strengthening the economy and expanding opportunities across various sectors.

He highlighted the expansion of national highways, expressways, railway networks, metro connectivity and aviation facilities, saying improved transportation infrastructure had enhanced Haryana’s economic and industrial potential.

Saini noted that every district in the state had been connected to the national highway network, facilitating trade, investment and mobility. He also referred to the hydrogen train initiative on the Jind-Sonipat route, elevated railway tracks in Rohtak and Kurukshetra, and the Rithala-Narela-Kundli Metro Corridor.

The Chief Minister said these projects reflected the Centre’s commitment to modernising transportation and supporting sustainable development.

Highlighting the state’s agricultural policies, Saini said the government had taken several measures to improve farmers’ financial security. He pointed to the procurement of all 24 crops covered under the state’s minimum support price arrangements and the direct transfer of payments into farmers’ bank accounts.

On employment, he said more than two lakh young people had secured government jobs through a transparent, merit-based recruitment process. He added that central initiatives promoting skill development, entrepreneurship and startups had opened new avenues for Haryana’s youth.

Saini also described Haryana as an emerging centre for information technology, IT-enabled services and modern industries.

The letter highlighted programmes aimed at strengthening women’s economic independence, including the Lado Lakshmi Yojana, Lakhpati Didi campaign and support for women’s self-help groups.

The Chief Minister said women from the state were making significant contributions in education, sports, science and other fields, while government initiatives were helping them participate more actively in economic activities.

Referring to social welfare, Saini said programmes such as Ayushman Bharat-Chirayu, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission and food security schemes had improved access to healthcare, housing, drinking water and essential services.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that welfare benefits reached economically weaker sections and other disadvantaged communities.

Saini said the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas” continued to guide the state’s development priorities.

Recalling Modi’s address during Haryana’s golden jubilee celebrations in Gurugram on November 1, 2016, the Chief Minister said the Prime Minister had described the state as a major engine of the Indian economy.

He added that Haryana was committed to contributing to the national goal of building a developed India by 2047.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the state’s cultural and spiritual heritage, particularly Kurukshetra and the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, as important sources of inspiration.

He said Haryana’s farmers, soldiers, sportspersons, industrialists and workers had made significant contributions to the country’s progress.

Saini concluded by thanking Modi for his foundation day greetings and expressing confidence that the Prime Minister’s continued guidance would help Haryana achieve greater development while preserving its cultural heritage.
