Hebrew University Expresses Gratitude to PM Modi for His Courageous Remarks

Israeli University Links Modi’s Knesset Address to Growing Academic Collaboration

India, Feb. 27 — The Hebrew University of Jerusalem on Thursday expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for what it described as his “warm and courageous words” delivered at the Knesset. The university said such diplomatic milestones are helping translate strong political ties into deeper academic cooperation between the two nations.

In his address, Modi reaffirmed India’s policy of zero tolerance against terrorism, stating, “We feel your pain. We share your grief. India stands with Israel, firmly, with full conviction, in this moment, and beyond.” He further emphasized that no cause can justify the killing of civilians or acts of terror.

Highlighting expanding educational ties, the university noted that academic collaboration mirrors the broader partnership between the two countries. Last week, it signed a memorandum of understanding with Nalanda University. A delegation led by Vice President for International Affairs Prof. Guy Harpaz also visited India to strengthen institutional linkages and explore new areas of cooperation.

The university reiterated that the growing relationship between the two nations is increasingly reflected in research exchanges, student engagement and scholarly collaboration.
