Skill-based education is also gaining importance as emerging technologies transform traditional employment patterns. Students are increasingly expected to develop digital capabilities alongside specialised knowledge in their chosen fields.
Institutions are also exploring collaborations with industry and other organisations to provide students with internships, training opportunities and exposure to professional environments.
The approach is aligned with the objectives of the National Education Policy, which calls for multidisciplinary education and greater integration of vocational and professional skills into higher education.
Experts have said that stronger links between universities and employers can help students understand workplace expectations while giving institutions better insight into the skills required in emerging sectors.
The emphasis on employability is particularly significant for students entering competitive job markets, where academic qualifications alone may not always be sufficient.
