Hockey India Announces 24-Man Squad for FIH Men’s Pro League 2025–26 Hobart Leg

Hardik Singh to lead experienced and young talent as India takes on Australia and Spain

India, Feb 17 : Hockey India on Tuesday announced its 24-member squad for the Hobart leg of the FIH Men’s Pro League 2025–26, scheduled from February 20 to 25 at the Tasmania Hockey Centre. India will face host nation Australia and Spain in what promises to be an intense and competitive stage of the tournament.

The squad blends seasoned campaigners with emerging players, aiming to build momentum after mixed results in the Rourkela leg against Belgium and Argentina. Two-time Olympic bronze medallist Hardik Singh will captain the team, while promising talents like Amandeep Lakra and Manmeet Singh, who made their senior debuts in Rourkela, feature in the lineup. Harmanpreet Singh will miss the Hobart leg due to personal reasons.

Squad Composition:

Goalkeepers: Suraj Karkera, Mohith Honnenahalli Shashikumar

Defenders: Amit Rohidas, Jarmanpreet Singh, Jugraj Singh, Sanjay, Sumit, Amandeep Lakra, Yashdeep Siwach, Poovanna Chandura Boby

Midfielders: Rajinder Singh, Manmeet Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Hardik Singh, Moirangthem Rabichandra Singh, Vishnu Kant Singh, Raj Kumar Pal

Forwards: Abhishek, Shilanand Lakra, Mandeep Singh, Araijeet Singh Hundal, Aditya Arjun Lalage, Angad Bir Singh, Maninder Singh

Returning to the team are Maninder Singh, who played in the Hero Asia Cup 2022 and previous Pro League editions, and Angad Bir Singh, making his first international tour after debuting last year.

Commenting on the selection, chief coach Craig Fulton said, “After the Rourkela leg, we’ve learned key lessons and seen promising performances from new players. The Hobart leg will help us refine our strategies ahead of the FIH Hockey World Cup and Asian Games.”

The Hobart stage offers India an opportunity to regroup, test combinations, and strengthen the squad as they prepare for major international tournaments later this year.
