Hyderabad, Dec 08 : Airport faced heightened security on Sunday night after a hoax bomb threat email targeted the airport’s customer support, prompting authorities to implement standard safety protocols for three incoming flights.
The email, received on December 7, listed threats to three specific flights. IndiGo flight 6E 7178 from Kannur landed safely at 10:50 PM, Lufthansa flight LH 752 from Frankfurt touched down at 2:00 AM, and British Airways flight BA 277 from Heathrow arrived at 5:30 AM. All aircraft underwent thorough security checks, and no explosives or suspicious items were found.
Airport authorities confirmed that safety measures were activated immediately, and the source of the email is under investigation. Meanwhile, IndiGo reported operational disruptions, cancelling 58 arrivals and 54 departures at Hyderabad Airport on Monday.
