India showcases aerial prowess and ‘Make in India’ aviation capabilities at the Dubai Airshow 2025

India, Nov 15 : An Indian Air Force (IAF) contingent, comprising the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) and Tejas fighter jets, has touched down at Al Maktoum Airbase, Dubai, ahead of the Dubai Airshow 2025, scheduled from November 17 to 21.
The deployment underscores India’s growing defence-diplomacy outreach in the Middle East and highlights the nation’s homegrown aviation capabilities. The Dubai Airshow is set to feature over 1,500 exhibitors, 490 delegations, and more than 200 aircraft.
On its official X account, the IAF posted: “An IAF contingent comprising of Suryakiran Aerobatic Team and Tejas fighters landed at Al Maktoum Airbase, Dubai for the Dubai Air Show.” The Suryakiran Aerobatic Team’s account added: “Hello Dubai! Suryakirans touch down in Al Maktoum Airport to participate in the prestigious Dubai Airshow 2025!”
Formed in 1996 and flying Hawk Mk-132 aircraft, the Suryakiran team is known for precision aerobatics, having clocked over 700 display missions globally. Their participation, alongside indigenous Tejas fighters, emphasizes the ‘Make in India’ initiative, with both static and aerial displays planned.
Wing Commander Ashish Sudhir Moghe confirmed that the contingent of around 180 personnel has completed extensive logistical preparations. The Suryakirans flew directly to Dubai, while support staff and Sarang helicopters were transported using IAF’s C-17 Globemaster and C-130J aircraft.
The IAF will perform alongside globally acclaimed aerobatic teams, including the Saudi Hawks, Russian Knights, and UAE’s Al Fursan. Officials noted that such showcases not only highlight India’s aerial capabilities but also strengthen military ties, promote defence exports, and demonstrate India’s rising global footprint in aerospace technology.
