India, Oct 09 : The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the launch of the inaugural ICC Women’s Cricket Week, a global initiative designed to celebrate, promote, and elevate women’s cricket across all levels of the sport.

Scheduled to run from October 16 to 22, the event coincides with the ongoing ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 being hosted in India. The annual celebration will focus on increasing visibility, participation, and leadership opportunities for women in cricket worldwide.

ICC Chairman Jay Shah hailed the launch as a landmark step in the evolution of the women’s game. “This year has already marked a turning point for women’s cricket, with record-breaking crowds, landmark performances, and growing global momentum,” Shah said. “The ICC Women’s Cricket Week celebrates not just the elite players but every girl aspiring to play, providing Member nations a chance to engage and shape the sport’s future in their communities.”
