India, Oct 24 : India became the fourth and final team to seal their spot in the semifinals of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 following a remarkable 53-run win over New Zealand in Match 24 on Thursday at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. Despite the rain affected contest, India remained fourth in the points table with three wins and six points from six matches.
The victory was a strong comeback after three consecutive losses to South Africa, Australia, and England, showcasing a well rounded team performance. Alongside India, Australia, South Africa, and England have already secured semifinal berths, with Australia leading the table with five wins and 11 points, followed by South Africa and England.
New Zealand sit fifth with just one win in six matches, while Sri Lanka (6th), Bangladesh (7th), and Pakistan (8th) complete the standings as the tournament heads into its knockout phase.
