NEW DELHI, May 6: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations announced the ICSE and ISC examination results for 2026 with overall pass percentages crossing 99 percent in both categories.
Officials said over 2.58 lakh students appeared for the ICSE Class 10 examinations, while more than one lakh candidates took the ISC Class 12 exams. Girls continued to outperform boys in both categories, reflecting a steady trend seen over the past few years.
The ICSE examination recorded a pass percentage of 99.18 percent, while the ISC examinations registered 99.13 percent. Education analysts described the results as an indication of improved academic preparedness and stable evaluation systems.
Students across the country celebrated the results as schools organised felicitation ceremonies and counselling sessions for higher education admissions. Several institutions also announced scholarship programmes for high-performing students.
Meanwhile, online discussions among students highlighted concerns regarding evaluation transparency and internal assessment practices. Some students demanded greater disclosure of practical and internal marks to ensure fairness in the system.
