IGPL Leader Aman Raj Eyes Victory as Asian Tour Returns to India with $500,000 Bharath Classic

IGPL Order of Merit leader eyes Asian Tour breakthrough at Kensville Golf Resort, Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, Nov 28 : Indian golfing star Aman Raj, current leader on the IGPL Tour, takes center stage as the Asian Tour returns to India with the $500,000 Bharath Classic 2025 at Ahmedabad’s Kensville Golf Resort. This marks the first Asian Tour event in India since March 2023, giving domestic stars a rare chance to compete on home soil against international competition.

The Bharath Classic, co-sanctioned by the IGPL Tour, is the crown jewel of the Indian golfing calendar. The winner secures Asian Tour playing privileges through 2026 and 2027, along with potential access to the International Series and LIV Golf Tour.

Aman Raj, a two time IGPL winner in Jaipur and Kolkata, leads India’s home challenge, followed closely by Pukhraj Singh Gill, Sachin Baisoya, and teenage prodigy Kartik Singh. Other notable competitors include IGPL winner Kapil Kumar, seasoned Asian Tour players Ajeetesh Sandhu, Yuvraj Sandhu, and Olympians Udayan Mane and SSP Chawrasia.

Speaking ahead of the tournament, Aman Raj said, “Winning this week could shortcut my route to the Asian Tour. The course is looking fantastic, and the competition is strong with internationals like Jazz Janewattananond and Ekpharit Wu joining us. It will be four exciting days of golf.”

IGPL CEO Uttam Singh Mundy welcomed the Asian Tour’s return, noting, “Our top stars have historically performed well on home soil. This event provides a critical platform for Indian golfers to advance their careers.”

Rising talents Kartik Singh, Veer Ganapathy, and domestic stars like Yashas Chandra, Shaurya Bhattacharya, and Arjun Prasad will also be looking to make their mark. With the $500,000 prize fund, the Bharath Classic promises high stakes competition and an opportunity for Indian golfers to reclaim their place on the Asian Tour.
