Mumbai, Dec 13: Iltija Mufti, daughter of former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, shared her thoughts on the recently released film ‘Dhurandhar’ on social media, describing it as “pretty good” and “very well made”.
In her post on X (formerly Twitter), Iltija highlighted the movie’s treatment of women, praising it for “portraying women without reducing them to mere props”. She also lauded the casting, calling it “perfection”. She wrote:
“Much outrage over Dhurandhar, but I quite liked the movie & found it interesting. The casting especially is perfection. Women, for once, as is the case in most violent Bollywood movies, weren’t used as props. Very well made.”
Since its release on December 5, Dhurandhar has sparked a heated debate online. While some viewers criticised it as propaganda, others praised the film for realistically portraying real life events and highlighting the impact of terrorism on the country.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, known for his sociopolitical dramas, the film stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role, supported by Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and R. Madhavan. Akshaye Khanna’s viral entry dance scene has become a talking point on social media.
Several Bollywood celebrities, including Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, Vicky Kaushal, Allu Arjun, and Rohit Shetty, have publicly praised the film and the performances of the star cast.
Iltija Mufti’s endorsement adds to the growing chorus of celebrity reactions applauding the movie for its strong performances and socially relevant storytelling.
