Imran Khan’s Sisters Lead Rawalpindi Sit In After Being Blocked at Adiala Jail

Aleema, Noreen, and Uzma Khan lead protest at Factory Naka PTI leaders join demonstration over restricted access to former PM

Rawalpindi, Dec 24: Sisters of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, currently lodged in Adiala jail, staged a sit-in near Factory Naka on Tuesday after being denied permission to meet him, Pakistani media reported.

The protest, which began in the mid-afternoon and continued into the night, was led by Aleema Khan, accompanied by Noreen Khan Niazi and Uzma Khan, and joined by senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including provincial president Junaid Akbar and Mushtaq Ghani.

This demonstration is part of a series of protests by Khan’s family in recent weeks, who have alleged repeated obstruction in accessing the jailed PTI founder. Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, are currently serving 17-year prison sentences in the Toshakhana-II case.

Addressing reporters, Aleema Khan claimed that the family had been prevented from visiting her brother every Tuesday, alleging that both Khan and Bushra Bibi were held in solitary confinement and subjected to mental torture.

She further stated that the former prime minister had instructed preparations for protests, adding that any statements suggesting ongoing negotiations would not reflect the party’s official stance.
