11-02-2023 : The only cheetah-containing national park in the nation, Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh, will soon receive 12 cheetahs from the central government.

This time, 12 cheetahs are being imported from South Africa, and a delegation of government representatives from the National Tiger Conservation Authority and Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has already traveled there to begin the procedure.

The Madhya Pradesh Forest Department is prepared to receive the 12 cheetahs that will be delivered to India on February 18.

According to officials, there will be 7 male and 5 female cheetahs out of the total of twelve. However, these are being transported through commercial aircraft.

On September 17 of last year, eight cheetahs were transported from Namibia. There were 5 female cheetahs among them. By releasing them into Kuno Park, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote a new chapter in history. According to officials, the second batch of cheetahs is on its way to India, and it’s possible that in the next days, there will be a major increase in the number of cheetahs there.
