New Delhi, July 31: The government has intensified efforts to reinforce the country’s cybersecurity ecosystem by expanding monitoring systems and strengthening coordination among key agencies responsible for safeguarding digital infrastructure.
Officials said the latest measures are intended to improve the country’s preparedness against increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks targeting financial institutions, government departments, healthcare services, and other essential sectors.
The enhanced framework includes faster threat intelligence sharing, real-time monitoring capabilities, and stronger collaboration between central agencies, state governments, and private organisations. Authorities are also encouraging organisations to adopt internationally accepted cybersecurity standards and conduct regular security audits.
Cybersecurity experts noted that the rapid expansion of digital payments, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and connected devices has significantly increased the need for proactive security measures and continuous risk assessment.
The government is also focusing on capacity building by supporting cybersecurity training programmes, promoting ethical hacking initiatives, and expanding awareness campaigns to help businesses and citizens identify online threats.
Officials said strengthening cyber resilience remains a key priority as India’s digital economy continues to grow, with new policies expected to support secure innovation while protecting sensitive information and critical services from emerging cyber risks.
