NEW DELHI, Sep 10: In response to ongoing unrest in Nepal, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Wednesday issued a travel advisory for Indians residing in the country, providing helpline numbers for assistance.
The MEA advised Indian citizens to defer any travel to Nepal until the situation stabilizes. “Indian citizens presently in Nepal are advised to shelter in their current places of residence, avoid going out onto the streets, and exercise all due caution,” the advisory stated.
Indians in Nepal were urged to follow local safety advisories issued by Nepalese authorities as well as guidance from the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu. In case of any assistance, citizens can contact the Indian Embassy through the provided helpline numbers, which also have WhatsApp access: +977 – 980 860 2881, +977 – 981 032 6134.
