Hyderabad, Feb 28 : Indian Railways has introduced a new parcel logistics initiative across seven cities under the South Central Railway (SCR) zone, aiming to streamline and digitise cargo movement within the rail network.
The RailParcel pilot by Indian Railways covers Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Rajahmundry, Visakhapatnam, Bengaluru, and Chennai. The project is being implemented by AION-Tech Solutions through its subsidiaries ROQIT and ETO Motors.
ROQIT, a cloud based SaaS platform, provides digital booking, workflow automation, and real time parcel tracking, enabling improved operational visibility and coordination among stakeholders. The system is designed to create a scalable, technology driven framework for parcel handling within the railway ecosystem.
On ground logistics support is being handled by ETO Motors, an electric mobility led logistics provider responsible for first and last mile deliveries. Currently operating in three cities under the pilot phase, the company aligns its services with railway schedules to ensure timely parcel transfers between terminals and final destinations.
Officials stated that the integration of digital tracking with electric mobility aims to offer a seamless, low-carbon logistics solution. The initiative reflects Indian Railways’ broader push toward modernisation, improved multimodal connectivity, and sustainable parcel operations across its network.
