29-05-2023: An Urgent meeting of Bari Brahmana Industries Association was held today under the chairmanship of Sh. Lalit Mahajan, President BBIA in the presence of Sh. Tarun Singla, Sr. Vice President, Sh. Ajay Langer Vice President, Sh. Viraaj Malhotra General Secretary, Sh. Rajesh Jain Secretary, Sh. Vivek Singhal Treasurer BBIA & other members.
During the course of discussions, Members present in the meeting raised serious concerns in respect of mass scale transfer of doctors from the ESI Model Hospital Bari Brahmana as per the Order issued on 20-05-2023 by the ESIC Headquarters New Delhi which includes 06 Specialists and 13 Medical Officers which may be resulting into total collapse of Healthcare facility available to ESI Registered Workers and staff in ESI Hospital Bari Brahmana and as per the information available with us the present strength of Medical and Para Medical Staff is approx. 70% of the total sanctioned post for the 50 Bedded hospitals. It is also surprising to note that the Specialists with the requisite qualification in their respective filed posted in the ESI Dispensaries as Medical Officers which is as total violation of ESI Corporation guidelines which clearly say that the Services of any Medical Officers with the requisite qualification shall be for working in the ESIC Hospitals.
It is worthwhile to mention here that on the basis of present Registered IP’s with ESIC which may be increase in manifold on the basis of massive Industrial Investment on card on the basis of the New Central Sector Scheme 2021 of Govt. of India & the proposal has already approved by Union Ministry of Labour and Employment for the Up-Gradation of ESI Hospital from 50 Bedded to 100 Bedded and any step for the reducing the Strength of Staff at ESI Hospital Bari Brahmana may be resulting into the mass scale agitation by the Industrial Workers in future due to non-availability of medical Services from ESIC for which they are paying their hard-earned Money.
It is pertinent to mention here that the ESIC Model Hospital Bari Brahmana is the only hospital in J&K catering to the Medical care services of ESIC-insured persons of the entire U.T. and IPs are already visiting this hospital from far-flung areas and difficult terrains which are approximately 300-400 km. away from this hospital and in case of any denial of requisite service by the Hospital due to the Mass transfer of six Specialists out of total of seven and thirteen Medical-officers including Senior/ Post graduate Medical-officers and one Ayush Medical officer already has created apprehensions in the minds of particularly IP’s and uneasiness among the stakeholders who apprehend trouble in patient care.
We request Hob’ble Lt. Governor Sh. Manoj Sinha and Ms. Rehana Batul IAS, Commissioner/Secretary, Labour and Employment for immediate intervention for the posting of requisite Medical and Paramedical Staff in ESI Model Hospital and keep the Order of mass transfer of Doctors from ESI Hospital Bari Brahmana till further notice.
