INTERNATIONAL DAY OF FRIENDSHIP 2022

Editorial . . . . . . .

Many nations around the world observe International Friendship Day on the first Sunday in August each year. It is always done with friendship and respect for friendship as its guiding principles. It is the most significant aspect of a person’s existence and has a very broad philosophy. A person who forms friendships without being pushy or self-centered strives for the benefit of everyone and sees fresh opportunities for growth opening up in his or her life. Life seems lovely. In this, there is no separation between the self and the outside world, no rivalry, and no dividing line between great and little. Why is there such a paucity of human friendship today when friendship is such a highly desired commodity? Why is there such a high level of hostility between people? Why is there ideological hostility? This is the cause of the decline in individual creativity. Family participation and cooperation sentiments are eroding. Social breakdown is becoming more apparent. Religious convictions are beginning to wane. Man has been keeping track of the links in the chains of selfishness held captive by words and conventional wisdom. In contrast to all other relationships, friendship is one that you choose for yourself. Think about how restless you would feel if you didn’t see your buddies for a day and constantly wanted to check in on them. You can appreciate how unique this relationship is. The modern era of technology has brought individuals very close to one another. However, this technology has also taken away from us the time we could have spent relaxing together. Today, we hold the entire world captive in our hands, but in doing so, we have become so consumed with ourselves that we are, in a sense, shut off from the rest of the world. It is worthwhile to observe International Friendship Day in order to revitalize these human sensibilities in a new civilization and new culture.

Friendship is the kind of relationship that, in the current climate, when the bedrock of human senses and reciprocal interactions is eroding, maintaining a connection with one another is a potent tool for bringing joy and arousing enchanted emotions in the heart. Making friendship a blessing rather than a curse is the goal of Friendship Day. This day offers a unique chance to cultivate the mindset of spreading joy and encouraging others while putting personal interests to the side. The fundamental idea behind this holiday is that, even though friends may disagree or have different opinions, there should be no disagreements over feelings because, contrary to popular belief, disagreements over feelings lead to rebellion. Rebellion is a symbol of devastation, whereas revolution is the thud of construction. This Day of Friendship is beckoning us with open arms to flee and cling tenaciously to the path of friendship. Black, white, and other colours can all be found in life. Sometimes, as a result of the wrath of life, this range of friendship breaks in tears, and somewhere, the clamor of doubt appears. Friendship improves our willpower, longevity, and compassion yet calls for commitment and a sense of warmth. It teaches us how to live, paints a vivid picture of life, and motivates us to live so that we go above and beyond ourselves. If you are able to do this, life will become lovely in its entirety, and every feeling, step, and moment will be beautiful. Your friend will always have your best interests, your progress, and your happiness at heart, and there will always be passion and intimacy in their connection since there is no selfishness or dishonesty. Even though Indian culture and history have a long history of festivals, they have recently become more popular in our nation as a result of the growing interest in and the trend toward International Days. There are now holidays or celebrations every day. On Friendship Day, we should put our differences behind us and work to deepen our bonds of friendship via mutual respect, affinity, and harmony. In reality, only those people can be said to as friends if they have a passion for affection rather than self-interest; these people are quite uncommon in the world.

A priceless historical legacy is a friendship between Shri Krishna and Sudama, Vibhishana, and Shri Ram. Making friendship a blessing rather than a curse is the goal of Friendship Day. In order to form friendships in a meaningful way in life, we must set new principles and standards for friendship. Instead of love, compassion should be the definition of friendship.
