Jacob Elordi in Talks to Join Scarlett Johansson in Ari Aster’s ‘Scapegoat’

The Oscar nominated actor is negotiating for a role in Ari Aster’s upcoming A24 thriller, with production expected to begin later this year.

LOS ANGELES, Aug 11: Hollywood actor Jacob Elordi is in negotiations to join Scarlett Johansson in Scapegoat, the upcoming thriller from filmmaker Ari Aster and A24.

Elordi, who earned an Oscar nomination for his recent work, is reportedly being considered for a key role opposite Johansson, who is already attached to headline the project. Aster is writing and directing the film, which will mark his fifth feature with A24.

Plot details for Scapegoat remain closely guarded, keeping much of the project’s storyline under wraps. The collaboration nevertheless brings together a high-profile cast and filmmaker, generating considerable interest ahead of production.

Aster is known for films including Hereditary, Midsommar and Beau Is Afraid, while A24 has continued its partnership with the director across his feature projects.

For Elordi, the reported casting talks come as his profile continues to grow following acclaimed performances in films and television. He is also set to appear in Ridley Scott’s upcoming film The Dog Stars, adding another major project to his schedule.

If the negotiations are completed, Scapegoat is expected to move toward production later this year, although further casting and release details have yet to be announced.
