Jaipur, Oct 13 — The Jaipur Polo Team continued their winning streak this season, clinching the prestigious BM Birla Cup after a nail-biting 6–5 victory against Dynamix Achievers at the Rajasthan Polo Club. This marks Jaipur’s second major trophy of the season, further cementing their dominance in the domestic polo circuit.
The dynamic duo of HH Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh and Lance Watson played pivotal roles, scoring two goals each to lead Jaipur’s comeback in an electrifying final that kept spectators on edge till the last minute.
The game began on even footing, with both sides tied 1–1 after the first chukker courtesy of Vandit Golecha for Jaipur and Shivangi Jai Singh for Dynamix. Dynamix then took charge in the next two chukkers, driven by a powerful offensive from Daniel Otamendi, who netted three goals, while Shivangi added another to give her team a commanding 5–2 lead.
However, the tide turned dramatically in the fourth chukker. Devvrat Singh Jhalamand initiated Jaipur’s comeback with a fine strike before Padmanabh Singh scored two crucial goals to level the score at 5–5, sending the contest into the deciding fifth chukker.
In a tense finale, Lance Watson sealed the win for Jaipur with a decisive goal in the third minute, securing the BM Birla Cup and delighting local fans.
Earlier, Jaipur had stormed into the final after defeating Suhana All Stars Polo Team 8–4 in the semi-finals. The team’s stellar form continues, having also lifted titles at the Gen Amar Singh Kanota Cup, Sawai Man Guard Cup, and Chinkara Cup, beating strong opponents such as Mayfair Polo Team, Kognivera Stallions, and Carysil Polo.
