Jammu, June 26: The Jammu and Kashmir administration has accelerated the execution of key infrastructure and public development projects across multiple districts while simultaneously reviewing preparedness for the upcoming monsoon season.
Senior officials have directed departments to complete ongoing road upgrades, drainage improvements, flood protection works and public utility projects within stipulated timelines to minimize disruptions during periods of heavy rainfall.
District administrations have been conducting regular review meetings with engineers, municipal authorities, irrigation departments and disaster management officials to assess project progress and identify areas requiring immediate intervention.
One of the major priorities remains the strengthening of urban drainage systems in towns and cities that have historically experienced waterlogging during intense rainfall. Municipal bodies have intensified desilting operations in drains, culverts and stormwater channels to improve water flow before the arrival of the monsoon.
