Jammu, June 30: The Jammu and Kashmir Health Department has initiated a formal probe after an allegedly unauthorized pamphlet surfaced in Rajouri carrying the slogan “Polio Free Pakistan,” triggering widespread concern and criticism.
According to officials, the pamphlet appeared to be linked to a government health outreach programme, raising questions about how such politically sensitive wording was included in official communication material. The issue came to light after the document circulated on social media, prompting immediate scrutiny from health authorities.
The department has sought an explanation from the Block Medical Officer (BMO) of Rajouri and directed a detailed inquiry into the origin and approval process of the pamphlet. Officials said strict action may follow if lapses in supervision or procedural violations are confirmed.
Health authorities have emphasized that public health communication must remain neutral, accurate, and strictly within approved guidelines, especially in sensitive border regions like Jammu and Kashmir.
The incident has once again highlighted the importance of oversight in government messaging and the need for stronger verification mechanisms before distribution of official materials.
