Jammu, 03-04-2024 : Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Police (DGP) lauded the bravery and valor of probationary police sub-inspector (SI) Deepak Sharma, who tragically lost his life while confronting a notorious gangster in Kathua. DGP Sh. R.R. Swain praised Sharma’s courage and hailed his supreme sacrifice, emphasizing that his bravery will forever be etched in the memory of the nation and the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a heartfelt message, DGP Swain expressed his deepest condolences to the family of the late PSI Deepak Sharma on behalf of the entire Jammu and Kashmir Police fraternity. He reiterated the unwavering support of the police force to Sharma’s family, emphasizing that their commitment and valor will serve as an enduring source of inspiration for all members of the force.
The tragic incident occurred when Sharma sustained severe head injuries during an encounter with the wanted gangster. Despite receiving treatment, Sharma succumbed to his injuries, leaving behind a legacy of courage and sacrifice. Additionally, a special police officer was also injured during the shootout.
