Cracking Down on Illegal Residency: J&K Authorities Initiate FIRs and Uncover Illegal Documents in Operations Against Rohingyas' Facilitators

Jammu, 19-13-2023 : In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), the police have taken decisive action against individuals facilitating shelter for Rohingyas, deemed illegal immigrants, in the Jammu district. The police spokesperson announced the initiation of actions on a Tuesday morning, targeting those who have been providing shelter and unlawfully securing government benefits for non-citizens, specifically Rohingyas. Multiple First Information Reports (FIRs) have been filed across various police stations in Jammu against individuals accused of harboring foreigners, the Rohingyas.

The police, in adherence to proper procedures and in the presence of magistrates, conducted searches at various locations within the Jammu district, uncovering accommodations for non-citizens and investigating the residences of the facilitators involved. During these searches, authorities seized illegally obtained Indian documents such as PAN cards, Aadhar cards, and bank-related materials, along with other incriminating evidence. The spokesperson affirmed that the investigation has commenced, and stringent actions will be taken against all individuals found in violation of the law in this regard.
