JAMMU, Dec 15: Jammu and Kashmir Police have apprehended two individuals in connection with the attack on Sub-Inspector Nitin Khajuria in the Gurrah Morh area on Sunday evening. Khajuria, posted as Investigating Officer at Police Station Bakshi Nagar, was confronted and assaulted by a group of 6-7 persons, including the arrested suspects Rishab and Munna D.
The assailants reportedly used a sharp edged weapon and brandished a pistol during the attack. The injured officer was immediately taken to Government Medical College Jammu for treatment.
Following the incident, Police registered FIR No. 158/2025 at Bakshi Nagar Police Station and formed special teams to track the attackers. Acting on a combination of technical and human intelligence, the accused were traced to the Nikki Tawi area. During the chase, Rishab and Munna D fell while attempting to escape and sustained injuries. Both were subsequently arrested and shifted to Government Medical College Jammu for medical attention.
Police confirmed that investigations are ongoing, with efforts continuing to identify and apprehend the remaining members involved in the assault.
