Jammu-Srinagar National Highway Reopens, LMVs Allowed Through Qazigund-Navyug Tunnel

Jammu–Srinagar National Highway reopens for LMVs after snowfall, officials urge caution for travelers.

Srinagar, Jan 28: Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) were allowed to move from the Qazigund-Navyug Tunnel towards Jammu on Wednesday after the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway was temporarily closed for a day due to heavy snowfall, officials said.

A traffic official stated that the release of LMVs followed improvements in road conditions, allowing safe vehicular movement. The highway had been shut earlier, disrupting traffic and causing delays along the key route connecting Kashmir with the rest of the country.

SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir confirmed that traffic has now been restored towards Jammu. Authorities have advised commuters to exercise caution and follow official traffic updates before traveling on the highway.
