Jammu, Jan 10: All private and government schools in Jammu’s Summer Zone will reopen on January 12 as per the academic calendar, officials confirmed on Saturday, dismissing social media rumours of an extended winter break.
Authorities clarified that teaching staff have already resumed duties and are present in their respective schools, preparing for students’ return. Officials emphasized that the winter break will officially end on January 10, and normal academic activities will resume on January 12.
The clarification comes after unverified reports circulated online suggesting a possible extension of winter vacations due to weather conditions. Education authorities termed these claims baseless and advised parents and students to rely only on official notifications.
School administrations have been instructed to ensure a smooth resumption of classes and strictly adhere to the schedule. The Education Department reiterated that any updates regarding holidays or changes in the academic calendar will be communicated solely through official channels and urged the public to avoid spreading rumours.
