Jammu, 28-12-2023 : Three Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of the 1999 batch, including Anand Jain, the Inspector General of Police for Jammu Zone, have been elevated to the prestigious rank of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP). The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) recently issued an order confirming the promotions.
As per the order, the promotions were sanctioned based on the recommendations of the Screening Committee, which convened on December 20, 2023. The promoted officers are Ms. Chhaya Sharma, IPS (AGMUT: 1999), Shri Anand Jain, IPS (AGMUT: 1999), and Shri Nitish Kumar, IPS (AGMUT: 1999). These officers, presently serving in their respective cadres, will assume the ADGP Grade, equivalent to LEVEL 15 in the Pay Matrix, effective from January 1, 2024, or from the date of assuming charge, whichever is later. The approval for these promotions comes from the Competent Authority.
This elevation recognizes the exemplary service and dedication of these IPS officers, acknowledging their contributions to maintaining law and order, ensuring public safety and upholding the principles of justice. The ADGP rank signifies a higher level of responsibility and authority within the police force, reflecting the officers’ experience and leadership capabilities.
