Japanese Firm Commits ₹1,000 Crore Investment in Manesar, Announces Saini

Haryana’s industry push gains momentum as Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini highlights job creation, innovation, and rising global investor confidence

Japan, Apr 22 : Haryana is set to receive a major industrial and technological boost after Japanese multinational Daikin Industries announced an investment of approximately ₹1,000 crore in Manesar. The development, confirmed by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, is expected to generate more than 500 employment opportunities while strengthening the state’s position as a preferred destination for global investors.
The project will include the establishment of a cutting-edge research and development (R&D) centre, envisioned to be among the largest of its kind in India. Officials believe the facility will significantly enhance technological innovation, particularly in advanced manufacturing and climate control solutions, while fostering skill development and knowledge transfer in the region.
According to the chief minister, this investment reflects the increasing trust of Japanese corporations in Haryana’s policy framework, which emphasizes industrial growth, infrastructure expansion, and investor-friendly governance. He noted that the agreement stems from a memorandum of understanding signed during his official visit to Japan in October 2025, marking a key milestone in strengthening bilateral economic ties.
Saini underlined that the state government continues to prioritize reforms aimed at improving the ease of doing business. Measures to streamline approvals, reduce compliance burdens, and lower operational costs have played a crucial role in attracting international capital. The administration is also focusing on building an ecosystem that supports innovation-driven industries, ensuring long-term economic sustainability.
Highlighting the broader impact, he said the upcoming facility in Manesar would not only create direct employment but also stimulate ancillary industries, logistics networks, and service sectors. This multiplier effect is expected to contribute to regional economic growth and reinforce Haryana’s industrial corridor.
In addition to discussing the investment, Saini made political remarks directed at neighboring Punjab, urging voters to consider a shift toward development-focused governance. He emphasized that policy driven growth, rather than short-term populism, is essential for sustainable progress. The chief minister also stated that strict action against illegal drug trade would be a priority if his party were to gain power in the state.
The announcement signals a broader trend of increasing foreign direct investment in Haryana, particularly from Japan, as companies seek stable, policy driven environments for expansion. With projects like this, the state aims to position itself as a hub for high value manufacturing and innovation, aligning with India’s larger economic ambitions.
