J&K Boosts Security Grid Ahead of Tourist Movement Surge in Valley

Additional forces deployed, surveillance intensified at key highways, transit routes, and sensitive zones across Kashmir region

J&K, June 17 : Security has been significantly strengthened across Jammu and Kashmir as authorities step up preparations to manage increased civilian and tourist movement in the Valley, officials said on Wednesday.

Additional personnel have been deployed at major highways, entry points, and sensitive locations to ensure smooth movement and prevent any security disruptions. Checkpoints have been reinforced, and round-the-clock surveillance has been intensified using both ground monitoring and technical systems.

Officials said the move is part of a broader preventive strategy aimed at maintaining stability in key districts of the Kashmir Valley, particularly during periods of higher public activity. Special focus has been placed on transit routes connecting tourist destinations and pilgrimage circuits.

Security agencies are also coordinating closely with local administration units to monitor movement patterns and respond swiftly to any emerging situation. Patrolling has been increased in urban centres as well as peripheral rural areas considered sensitive.

Authorities have urged citizens and visitors to cooperate with security protocols, stating that these measures are intended to ensure safety, smooth travel, and uninterrupted public movement across the region.
