Jammu, Nov 29: The Jammu and Kashmir government, with approval from the Chief Justice of the High Court, has designated 20 District and Sessions Courts across the Union Territory as Special Courts. These courts will exclusively handle cases related to violations under the Mines and Mineral (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957, aiming to ensure faster and more efficient trial of mining offences.
The move is expected to strengthen regulatory enforcement, reduce case backlogs, and promote legal compliance in the mining sector throughout the region.
