Jammu, May 13: The Jammu and Kashmir Administration has sanctioned a series of service-related advancements for engineers working in the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), including promotions, confirmations and regularization, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
The approvals were granted by the Housing and Urban Development Department after the recommendations of the Union Territory Level Departmental Promotion Committee constituted for the Jammu Municipal Corporation.
According to the government order, Engineer Firdous Ahmad Qazi has been elevated to the post of Executive Engineer retrospectively from June 30, 2010. He has also been confirmed and promoted to the position of Superintending Engineer/Joint Commissioner (Works) with effect from July 12, 2024.
In another development, Engineer Janak Singh has been appointed to the post of Executive Engineer with effect from July 12, 2024, as per the official notification.
The order formalizing the decisions was issued by Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Housing and Urban Development Department, Mandeep Kaur.
Officials said the move is aimed at streamlining administrative functioning and strengthening the engineering wing of the Jammu Municipal Corporation.
