J&K Govt Unveils e-SAM Portal To Digitise And Streamline IT Asset Management Across Departments

The new e-Security Assessment and Management (e-SAM) Portal aims to enhance transparency, accountability, and cyber resilience across all departments.

Jammu, Oct 28: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has launched the e-Security Assessment and Management (e-SAM) Portal, a unified digital platform designed to ensure real time and centralised monitoring of IT assets across all government departments.

The initiative, part of the Union Territory’s broader cyber security and digital governance reforms, seeks to replace outdated manual tracking systems with an automated framework for managing procurement, issuance, and maintenance of IT equipment.

According to officials, the e-SAM Portal will help enhance transparency, accountability, and cyber resilience, while also minimising duplication and reducing operational costs. All departments and subordinate offices have been directed to transition their inventory management systems to the new portal by December 15, 2025.

The move marks another step in the J&K administration’s ongoing efforts to modernise governance through digital transformation and ensure better oversight of IT resources across the Union Territory.
