Srinagar, 20-02-2024 : In a swift response to a distress call amidst heavy snowfall, the police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district undertook the urgent evacuation of a pregnant woman on Tuesday morning. Shamshad Ahmad Mir, a resident of Zethan Dangiwacha, reached out to Sopore police, seeking immediate medical assistance for his critically ill wife.
The inclement weather had rendered the roads impassable due to heavy snowfall over the past two days, making vehicular movement extremely challenging. Upon receiving the distress call, a police team led by the Station House Officer (SHO) of PS Dangiwacha swiftly mobilized to the scene. Undeterred by the hazardous conditions, including perilous road conditions, the rescue team successfully evacuated the pregnant woman using official vehicles, transporting her to PHC Dangiwacha for urgent medical attention.
