J&K Dec 09 : In a significant anti-narcotics operation, Jammu and Kashmir Police recovered one kilogram of heroin from a vehicle parked at the Government Medical College (GMC) in Baramulla on Tuesday. Two people, including a woman, were arrested in connection with the seizure.
Police identified the arrested as Tahir Ahmad Khan, son of Jamal Khan, and Sobita, daughter of Mohd Sadiq Khan, both residents of Trakinjan Boniyar. Acting on specific intelligence, a team led by ASP Neha Jain, assisted by SHO Baramulla Owais Geelani, intercepted a Tata Punch vehicle bearing registration number JK05L 7844 in the GMC parking area.
During a thorough search of the vehicle, officials recovered one kilogram of heroin. A case has been registered, and further investigations are underway to dismantle the drug-trafficking network in the region.
