JK UT Govt. announces elections to 1089 Sarpanch, 12168 Panchs

JAMMU :The Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department today declared by-decisions to 12168 Panch and 1089 Sarpanch supporters in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir which were empty for the past around two years. Dates for the races will be announced by the Election Authority who happened to be the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) J&K.

On the bearings of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department today reported topping off of opening to 1089 posts of Sarpanchs and 12168 Panchs spread over each of the 20 regions of the Union Territory.
